The VPCC women's volleyball team lost to Patrick & Henry Community College in straight sets Friday, Aug. 30, at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton. The Gators lost 25-12, 25-20 and 25-17.

"We did not play anywhere near the level we played on Tuesday," said coach Tommy Thomas, referring a three-set lose to Bryant & Stratton.

Ashleigh Yost (Smithfield High School) had eight kills, four blocks and nine digs against Patrick & Henry. Kingsleigh Guinn (Kecoughtan High School) had five kills and seven digs. Setter Berkeley Stenger (Peninsula Catholic High School) had 18 assists.

The Gators committed 17 hitting errors and their hitting percentage was just 22%. They had eight service errors and just five aces.
