Athletes post numerous season-best performances
PRs fall in meet at CNU
The six athletes who have been on the track team since the start of the season posted season-best performances in the Christopher Newport University meet April 19-20.
Kennedy Taylor had times of 13.15 and 27.16 in the 100- and 200-meters, respectively.
Zach Baumgartl topped his season best in the 5,000 by 50 seconds with a time of 19:48.29.
Joshua Rivera took .22 seconds off his time in the 100 meters with a showing of 14.33. He also ran in the 200 and had a time of 31.02, tying his season best.
Cinthya Bates ran 33:52.49 in the 5,000 meters, more than a minute faster than her previous best.
Andrew Garner had a throw of 33-05.25 in the discus, two feet farther than his other throws this season.
Josiah Selby threw the shot 11.30 meters, almost a full meter farther than his previous best. He also threw the discus 32.85 meters.
Darrin Hayden was participating in his first meet for the Gators and ran a 1:10.70 in the 400, and a 6:08.14 in the 1,500.
The squad finishes its first season of competition April 27 at Virginia State University
